Our So-called Reality is Simply a Matrix

"All I'm offering is the truth, nothing more." - The Matrix

Remember the movie "The Matrix"? I watched that movie when it first came out, and I was probably about eighteen. At that time I did not really understand the message the movie was trying to convey. I thought it was just another Hollywood action-packed sci-fi movie, because I was still asleep in the matrix, our so-called "reality".

After I had my spiritual awakening experience and kept walking further on the path, I watched "The Matrix" again and slowly I understood the message behind movies like the Matrix (other similar movies including "Inception").

In fact, the society we live in, the rules and dogmas we have been told to obey, the entire systems - our educational system, the legal system, the media, the social construct of organizations, marriage, family, time, money, fame ... almost everything in the society that we could see makes up the utterly pervasive matrix, the nearly impossible to escape matrix.

The matrix is so huge that it permeates in every aspect of our life. The matrix has conditioned us to follow a conventional path of life, something that looks like this "to study -> get into uni ->land a good job (slave 9-5) -> take up a mortgage to buy a house -> to get married -> to have children -> to retire -> to die".

The designers behind the matrix design a system like this: the more you follow the system, the more incentives, and rewards you will get. And the better you follow the system, i.e. the more you fit into the society, the more respectable (or agreeable) you are in the society.

If you have travelled to many difference places and countries, interacting with many different cultures, then you might notice that despite the differences in every country, every culture, but there still exists the matrix, just designed differently, but still a matrix.

When you have awakened from the illusions of the so-called "reality" (constructed by the matrix), the way you view the society will be entirely different, as you have reached an altered state of consciousness and you will not be easily manipulated and fooled by the matrix.

For instance, when you are stuck in a job that you don't like, or you are in a loveless relationship or marriage, you will start to ask yourself the question "is this all life is all about?"

Of course, people around you (who are still asleep) will try to convince you, "yes, this is the reality, and you have to accept the 'reality'."

But, actually is this really the reality?

"How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 8.30am by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, pass, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?" - Charles Bukowski

Is this what you called reality?

When you first became awakened to the illusions of reality, you probably won't feel so much happy about it, as you had just discovered that you had been lied to since childhood, you had discovered this big fat lie!

The path of enlightenment is the path to eternal bliss, but before you can reach the light at the end of the tunnel, you probably need to crawl through the dark tunnel first. There is doomed to be darkness before dawn. But there is no need to be afraid, everything is here to help you grow and evolve into this infinite being you are meant to be.

Many people want to be awakened, but they don't dare to be awakened as they have invested so much in the matrix. Their entire life is dependent on the system, that is why for some people, they think it's probably better for them to be asleep than to wake up.

To wake up would require too much effort, too much change, too many risks. And perhaps even more suffering at the beginning as people might think that you had "gone mad".

Just like the movie "matrix", you have the choice to eat the blue pill, i.e., to keep asleep or if you choose to eat the red pill, then you can find out the truth, like Alice jumping into the unknown through the rabbit hole.

If you want to jump into the rabbit hole, then keep reading on:

Brave choice :)

Let me remind you what the possible reality is:

The truth is that we live on a tiny planet called Earth. Our sun is only a tiny star among all the 400 billions of stars in the galaxy. Our galaxy Milky Way is only a tiny galaxy among all the 200 billion galaxies in our observable Universe.

And the Universe is constantly expanding; there might be multiverses too (i.e., the Universe we live in is only one of the many universes)...
so the truth is that base reality is Unknown, it is way beyond the imagination of our limited mind.

When you think what you see around us is the reality, please do think again! And do look at the infinite sky, the star-sprinkled night, think about the ever-expanding infinite Universe, and the possibility that they might be "multiverses, " i.e., our universe could perhaps only be a universe among many universes! Who knows!

Spending more time with mother nature is also a very good way to help us get closer to the truth, to be close to the sea, to the trees, to be in the forest, without the noises of the mainstream media which is constantly trying to brainwash us and deliberately conditioning us into thinking that the materialistic world is the reality...

When you realise that all is a matrix, all are illusions, you perhaps want to get away, you want to make changes and take control of your life, but it is not so easy because the matrix is so prevalent and we have been so deeply conditioned since childhood.

To renounce the world and live as a hermit in the Himalaya may not be easy as it sounds, so for most of us, it is best to remain in the matrix, but fully realising that it is just a matrix, just a game.

What we can do is to try our best to hack the matrix, to live creatively, and believe firmly that we can take control of our lives, and the programmes can be rewritten. Our 'reality' does not have to be the conventional reality that is imposed on us.

The ultimate choice is in our hands. And the good news is that it can be done. The good news is that you can take control of your life, you can create a life that you want, albeit living in the matrix, as I have seen many people done that, people who understand the matrix well and most importantly, they believe in themselves, also they know their talents.

We are the creator of our destiny, and all the choices are in our hands. We can choose to accept or reject the rules of the games or accept partially.

For instance, I believe education is important, knowledge is important.
But what's more important is to study what you are most interested, to study what excites you the most, to do what you love, not just to study something that will make money in the future.

For instance, having a job is important, but best to try to find a job that you can combine your interests with. If such job is difficult to find and money is an issue for you, then find a job that makes money but also try to build a career on the side that is aligned with your soul purpose.

Oh, most importantly, know thyself! Identify your interests, passion, talents and soul purpose, or more accurately, create your life's purpose! Think about what you enjoy doing even without getting paid, try to do that more often, and try to turn it into a career eventually - this is possible, and this has been done by many people, from all walks of life, such as artists, entrepreneurs, writers...

"To live in the world but not of it." - Osho

For instance, I absolutely cannot accept the system of marriage, so it's unlikely that I will get married in this lifetime, and I'm willing to take the consequence, and not care about what others think.

Of course, if I do get married, it would be with a spiritual partner who shares similar interests, and we may only get married because it is forced by the 'matrix', things like medical insurance, citizenship, etc.

But the foundation is that marriage cannot restrain my freedom, absolutely not. My freedom is more precious than anything in the world.

Another example, I want to build a career through writing, to be a poet and a novelist.  Of course, this in the matrix would require me to create, and at least finish a book, also to find ways to get it published. These are the rules set by the matrix. These rules don't seem to be too difficult to me, and writing is something I am absolutely passionate about, so I am willing to accept the rules and take actions to see my dreams manifested.

Anyway, what I am trying to say is that it is totally possible for us to live a creative life, a life that is aligned with our soul purpose, albeit living in this matrix. A lot of people have certainly done it and succeeded it. So, if others can, then you can do. Believe in yourself, believe in your talents, your creativity, try to create a life that you truly enjoy, you truly want to live and will be proud of when you die (not full of regrets), try to create a life that your soul intended and is fulfilling your soul purpose.

Most importantly, believe in yourself. Always.

PS. I'm very excited to announce that my first poetry book "Songs from the Soul" will be available on Amazon in December. "Songs from the Soul" is a poetry book that filled with stream-of-consciousness spiritual poems that reflect my spiritual journey, lessons, and growth. It is an exploration of human emotions, mind, consciousness, with a bit of taste of mysticism.

So if you are interested in spirituality, soul-searching or just uplifting messages in general, then I think you will enjoy it :) Follow my facebook.com/anjalilove and Instagram "anjali_love_writer" to get more details when it is released.
